Aafanta Nepal (KIN Nepal) is a national-level, not-for-profit non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 2008 in Lalitpur with the mission of ending human trafficking in Nepal. The organization works to transform the lives of vulnerable, broken, and rescued young women and girls, as well as their communities, by upholding human rights, promoting justice, and restoring self-dignity.

KIN Nepal adopts a holistic approach to address human trafficking through rescue and rehabilitation, psychosocial counseling, capacity building, empowerment, and community reintegration. Guided by this strategy, the organization prioritizes its program interventions under the pillars of Prevention, Protection, and Prosecution, while strengthening coordination, alliance building, and advocacy efforts against human trafficking, gender-based violence, and sexual exploitation in Nepal.

We invite applications from dynamic, qualified, and self-motivated Nepalese citizens (all genders encouraged to apply) for the following position:

Position: Digital and Social Media Officer (One)

Location: Head Office, Lalitpur with at least 50% field visits to Aafanta Nepal Safe Homes and project sites.

Job Purposes:

  • Manage Aafanta Nepal’s digital and social media platforms to strengthen visibility, engagement, and advocacy through creative and ethical communication.

  • Create and share photos, videos, stories, news, and awareness content on Anti-Human Trafficking (AHT), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and related social issues.

  • Document organizational activities and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective, survivor-centered, and impactful communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage official social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and website. 

  • Develop communication strategy, communication plan, digital and social content plan and its implementation. 

  • Create engaging content including photos, videos, reels, stories, infographics, blogs, and awareness materials. 

  • Document organizational events, campaigns, trainings, and field activities through photography and videography. 

  • Prepare news stories, event summaries, and digital communication materials.

  • Support digital campaigns and advocacy initiatives related to Anti-Human Trafficking, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), child protection, safe migration, and women’s empowerment.

  • Monitor social media analytics and prepare periodic reports.

  • Ensure all communication materials comply with safeguarding, ethical, and survivor-centered communication principles. 

  • Continuously update knowledge and skills on digital communication, social media trends, and emerging technologies to improve organizational visibility and impact.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Information Technology with Digital Media specialization, Social Work, or related disciplines.

  • However, this requirement is not mandatory for highly qualified and competent candidates who are survivors of Human Trafficking (HT) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), provided they demonstrate relevant skills and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms. 

  • Proficiency in Canva and photo/video editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or equivalent.

  • Excellent photography and videography skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Nepali and English.

  • Creative storytelling and content writing abilities.

  • Strong commitment to safeguarding, gender equality, and human rights.

  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in digital communication, social media management, content creation, or multimedia production. 

  • Experience in photography, videography, and website content management and updates.

  • Experience in producing digital awareness campaigns and communication materials.

  • Experience working with NGOs/INGOs or social development organizations will be an advantage.

  • Experience in website design, content management, and website updates/editing will be an advantage.
