Village Development and Save the Environment Forum (VDSEF) Nepal is a non-profit organization with over 31 years of experience working in Kalikot district. VDSEF focuses on child rights, maternal and neonatal health, nutrition, climate change adaptation, poverty reduction, and the promotion of the economic, social, and cultural rights of marginalized and disadvantaged communities. The organization strives to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development in Kalikot through inclusive and community-driven initiatives.
VDSEF Nepal has a strong history of collaboration with civil society organizations (CSOs) and government agencies to uplift the most vulnerable groups, including women (especially single mothers), children, adolescents, elderly persons, Dalits, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities.
Currently, VDSEF Nepal, in partnership with Save the Children, is implementing the SAHAYATRA-III and Action Adolescent Maternal Newborn Health (aMNH) projects in Kalikot district. The SAHAYATRA-III project is being implemented in Subhakalika Rural Municipality and aims to ensure the rights of rural and vulnerable children to quality education, child protection, resilience, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), guided by the principle of “Leaving No Child Behind.”
Similarly, the Action Adolescent Maternal Newborn Health (aMNH) Project focuses on improving the health and well-being of parenting adolescents, mothers, and newborns through strong collaboration with communities, local governments, and other relevant stakeholders. This project is being implemented in Tilagupha Municipality and Subhakalika Rural Municipality.
VDSEF Nepal is now seeking applications from qualified and dedicated Nepali citizens for the following positions under these projects
Position: Field Officer-SRHR (SAHAYATRA-III) -1 (One)
Duty station: Project Office, Subhakalika Rural Municipality, Kalikot
Report to: Project Coordinator-SRHR
Salary and Benefits: As per the organization's norms commensurate with the project agreement
Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator-SRHR, the Field Officer will lead and implement community-level SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) activities in coordination with health facilities, mentors, youth groups, and local stakeholders. The role focuses on ensuring quality SRHR service delivery through technical support, collaboration, coaching, and monitoring while promoting adolescent engagement and behavior change at the community and health facility levels.
Key role includes:
Coordinate with local government bodies, health facilities, schools, HFOMC, SMCs, and youth groups to effectively implement community-level SRHR and psychosocial support activities.
Facilitate the formation and strengthening of adolescent and youth groups and support the delivery of “Healthy Transitions” sessions to married and unmarried adolescents.
Provide technical guidance, onsite coaching, and mentoring to health workers, mentors, and caseworkers to improve the quality of SRHR and MNH services.
Deliver psychosocial support services including individual, group, and family counselling for vulnerable children and their caregivers.
Organize community awareness campaigns, trainings, and school-based Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) activities in coordination with community stakeholders.
Conduct regular monitoring visits, assess technical capacity needs of mentors and caseworkers, and ensure activities meet the project’s quality benchmarks.
Support planning, budgeting, and implementation of project activities in coordination with local governments and project teams.
Maintain proper documentation of counselling cases, referrals, and project activities, and contribute to quality reports, case studies, and success stories.
Work closely with the MEAL team to track progress, document learning, and ensure timely reporting and program quality improvement.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Nursing with 1+ year of health project experience or PCL Nursing/HA with 2+ years in community health or SRHR programs, plus six months training in Psychosocial Counseling or a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychological Counseling.
Experience in SRHR programs and working with local governments/community structures is an advantage.
Position: Technical Officer-Adolescent MNH (Action aMNH Project) -1 (One)
Duty station: Project Office, Tilagupha Municipality, Kalikot, with ~80% field visits to Tilagupha and Subhakalika.
Report to: Technical Coordinator

Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Technical Coordinator, the Technical Officer will be responsible for implementing aMNH project activities at health facility and community levels. The position will also support local governments in strengthening the technical capacity of Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH) service providers to ensure respectful and quality care for adolescents across the ANC-PNC continuum, including newborn care, while coordinating with relevant community stakeholders.
Key role includes:
Coordinate with health facilities, communities, and local government bodies to support assessment, planning, and project design for Adolescent MNH activities.
Ensure regular data collection, documentation, and dissemination on adolescent health and nutrition issues.
Support district and local-level project planning with reference to MNH and health/nutrition activities.
Provide on-site clinical coaching and mentoring to health workers, MNH service providers, and project staff.
Facilitate capacity-strengthening initiatives and implement quality improvement measures at health facilities.
Engage in local advocacy to secure resources and coordinate with stakeholders, including SCI-funded projects.
Assist in surveys, evaluations, social audits, and community program reviews.
Prepare and maintain reports, case studies, success stories, and project documentation.
Participate in planning, review meetings, and capacity-building sessions to ensure effective project implementation.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or Midwifery with experience in the relevant field, or a PCL in Nursing/Midwifery with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Candidates with SHP or SBA training will be preferred.
