SAHAS Nepal Vacancy for Project Officer
Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-profit making non-governmental-organization founded in 1996. Since then, SAHAS Nepal has been engaging in social mobilization, grassroots organisation/Community-Based Network Organisation (CBNO) formation and enhancing their capacity through partnership and implementing diverse programme and projects in the sectors of sustainable agriculture and food security, climate change, and education in 21 districts of Nepal.
SAHAS Nepal will be implementing an education project in Solukhumbu titled “Mobilization of the community for high-quality education in Solukhumhu district”.The aim of the project is to enhance quality and inclusive education in public schools in Solududhkunda Municipality and ThulungDudhkoshi Rural Municipality in Solukhumbu district with community mobilisation, school environment improvement, youth development, livelihood support and capacity building approaches.
SAHAS Nepal is seeking energetic, committed and creative candidates to work on the education project aimed atenhancing the qualityof education for the following position. The position will be based in Solududhkunda Municipality and ThulungDudhkoshi Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu District depending on project’s need.

Academic qualification/experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, development studies, social science or relevant field with minimum 2 years of experience in education sector or development projects.
- Excellent facilitation, training, and capacity building skills are expected.
- Good skill in community development, empowerment, networking, lobby and advocacy, efficient team play.
- Good communication, analytical skills and report writing.
- Experience working in rural communities, preferably in Solukhumbu or similar geographic areas.
- Good understanding of Nepal’s education system and policies.
Major Responsibilities
- Assist Project Coordinator in project implementation in line with the detailed implementation plan.
- Support teacher training, student engagement programs and capacity building initiatives.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings and workshops.
- Maintain relationship and strong coordination with local government, schools, community people, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical inputs during the preparation of promotional materials for educational activities.
- Draft monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually report, success stories and case stories and report to Project Coordinator.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor program effectiveness and identify challenges and provide recommendations for improvement.
