Human Practice Foundation (HPF), a Danish non-governmental organization, has been working in Nepal since 2017 and Kenya since 2018 to improve the quality of education through its Child Empowerment Model, including school infrastructure development, learning improvement, and economic empowerment initiatives.
HPF is currently seeking competent, experienced, committed, and dynamic Nepalese candidates for the following positions to implement its sustainable agriculture promotion through Micro-Entrepreneurship Program (MEP) in Panchthar, Taplejung, and Therathum district. This position requires frequent field visits to various locations within rural municipalities.
1. Position: MEP Junior Officer – 1 Position (Sustainable Agriculture Focus)
Duty Station: Project Office, Phidim, Panchthar, or any other dary station assigned by the organization
Reporting To:
Technical: MEP Manager, Phidim, Panchthar Office
Administrative: Program Director or District Lead Manager
Duration: One year, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance, including an initial three-month probation period.
Key Responsibilities:
Form and facilitate school-level MEP focal groups, focusing on promoting sustainable agriculture practices.
Identify and engage school parents interested in developing micro-enterprises in agriculture and related sectors.
Support the identification and selection of viable, market driven, and environmentally sustainable business opportunities.
Facilitate entrepreneurship development training with an emphasis on organic and sustainable farming practices.
Provide regular coaching, mentoring, and technical support through frequent field visits.
Assist in implementing sustainable agriculture-based micro-enterprise initiatives, including improved farming techniques, resource management, and value chain development.
Collect and analyze data related to return on investment (ROI) and program outcomes and prepare periodic reports.
Document success stories, lessons learned, and stories of change, particularly related to sustainable agriculture impacts.
Carry out additional duties as assigned under the guidance of the MEP/Micro Enterprise Development Manager (MEDM).
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma in Agriculture or Entrepreneurship Development Facilitator (EDF), or completion of an 18 month JTA (Agriculture) course with at least two years of experience in sustainable agriculture.
Minimum +2 education with at least three years of relevant experience in sustainable agriculture or micro-enterprise development (preferred).
Practical experience in permaculture, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and community awareness programs, with willingness to work in field-based settings.
Basic computer skills will be an advantage.
Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work effectively in a team.
