Field Visits: 30% travel (Domestic)


Core Function:

The incumbent will work closely with the Resource Development (RD) and Communication Team at Habitat for Humanity International Nepal (Habitat Nepal) and will lead the design and execution of overall communication strategy and plan in line with the Country Strategy 2024-27. Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager- Resource Development & Communications and collaborating closely with the Asia Pacific communications team, s/he will  provide technical expertise in developing  and promoting evidence-based content for resource generation and will ensure consistently attractive, effective and timely communications support to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Program/Project Leads that ensures excellent understanding of and visibility of Habitat Nepal’s work to donors, relevant stakeholders and peers within Habitat network. 

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead design and implementation of Habitat Nepal’s communications strategy and unit workplan that aligns with the Country Strategic Plan and supports Habitat’s business objectives.

  • Lead design and implementation of effective communications plan for donor funded projects, ensuring donor compliance and alignment with the project objectives.

  • Strengthen internal communications and brand visibility within the organization and wider Habitat network to improve understanding and visibility of Habitat Nepal’s work.

  • Lead implementation of Habitat Nepal’s digital marketing strategy. 

  • Improve brand visibility while ensuring quality and compliance. 

  • Coordinate and manage production of all key collaterals, including content write-up, design, layout and production by liaising with vendors and suppliers.

  • Lead design and execution of promotional campaigns in collaboration with creators and influencers that increase higher visibility of Habitat Nepal’s work in-country and in the region.

  • Lead organization and execution of key events, roundtable discussions, conferences, learning workshops, etc.  in the country.

  • Build alliances and partnerships with regional, national and local media, creators and influencers to develop and execute campaigns and collaborations that lead to higher visibility of Habitat Nepal’s work.

  • Develop press releases, handle media requests, draft appropriate responses and serve as the focal point for media coordination.

  • Develop systems that improve asset management of Habitat Nepal’s photos, videos, stories, designs and collaterals.

  • Develop indicators, track performance and report the effectiveness of the communications strategy, ensuring continuous improvement and learning.

  • Manage, monitor and ensure quality delivery of the activities outlined in the comms plan.

  • Provide capacity building to partner organizations and Habitat Nepal staff on communications, branding and visibility.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging communication technologies.

  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Education Qualification and Professional Experience

  • Post graduate preferred in relevant field. 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in communications, media and journalism.

  • Demonstrated track record in leading communications for non-profit organizations required.

  • Demonstrated planning, project management and facilitation skills required.


Knowledge and Competencies

  • Excellent knowledge and comprehension of communications strategies, methods, and tactics.

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills; innovative and creative thinker.

  • Willingness and ability to work closely with other departments, institutions, and across cultures.

  • Excellent time management, goal setting, multitasking, and prioritization abilities to ensure the timely completion of tasks, under tight deadlines ensuring high quality results.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-driven and a team-player.
