Project Admin and Finance Officer
Conservation Nepal (CN) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to biodiversity preservation and natural resource management. CN invites applications from dynamic, self-motivated, and qualified Nepali citizens for the position below under the project “Conservation of River Dolphins in Nepal.” The Ganges River dolphin (Platanista gangetica) is the world's most endangered freshwater cetacean, inhabiting the Ganges–Brahmaputra–Meghna and Karnaphuli River Basins across Nepal, India, and Bangladesh. In Nepal, fewer than 50 individuals remain in waterways, facing severe risks of local extirpation due to human pressures and habitat degradation.
To generate scientific data of this endangered species, CN is implementing this project. CN is looking for qualified individual as follows:
Duty Station: Project Field Sites (Koshi, Narayani and Karnali, including their river systems) and Kathmandu Office (50% each)
Duration: Three years
Key Responsibilities
Manage overall financial operations, accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting for the project.
Ensure compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies, and prevailing tax laws of Nepal.
Manage procurement of field equipment, logistics, workshop arrangements, and travel itineraries.
Maintain human resources records, contracts, consultant agreements, and project vendor logs.
Prepare periodic financial statements and coordinate internal and external project audits.
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, or Accounting.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in administrative and financial management within non-profit or conservation projects.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, FAMAS) and MS Office (Advanced Excel).
Sound knowledge of GoN tax compliance, procurement guidelines, and SWC regulations.
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
