Sundar Nepal Sanstha Vacancy for Agriculture, Livelihood and Marketing Facilitator

Purpose of Position: The Agriculture, livelihood and marketing facilitator is responsible to perform all coordination and collaboration with local government stakeholders and project target groups for smooth and quality implementation of the Nurture Every Future – Poshan project activities. S/he is liable for extension, communication and training of mother groups, diagnosis of community issues, problems and needs as well as priorities, obtain solutions for recommendations; assist in implementing project activities. More specifically, S/he is responsible for the following tasks.

Major Task Responsibilities:

• Support project teams to establish collaboration and coordination with local government, community beneficiaries, health mother groups, farmer groups and other stakeholders for the joint planning and execution of field level intervention.
• Conduct community level scoping exercises to identify gaps and opportunities in the promotion of local food systems through identifying potential value chain commodities and providing support for marketing on value chain.
•  Lead in promotion of nutrition gardening practices for improving household dietary diversity, food and income security.
•  Support the project team for the establishment of supply chain management.
•  Ensure the field activities are on the right track as per the annual work plan, budget, and alignment with project outputs.
• Support and facilitate orientation sessions at Farmer’s Field Business School (FFBS) approach on nutritious food systems and behavioral change.
• Perform activities related to post-harvest, and marketing of agriculture products.
•  Ensure data quality and real time entry on system.s
•  Support the project team of the program to create the enabling environment at local government, and at the community level for effective delivery of the project activities.
•  Facilitate to establish coordination with health facilities, Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs), health mother groups, follow up on regular target community meetings, delivered the behavior change session and identify the agenda for discussion.
•  Identify harmful social norms and practices and apply appropriate Social Analysis Action (SAA) tools that contribute to better nutritional outcomes through gender transformation.
•  Identify change champions and mobilize them to eradicate harmful norms through community mobilization. • Conduct community dialogues with community leaders and traditional/religious healers on harmful social norms.
•  Agency building through Village Saving and Loan Association (VSLA), financial literacy and entrepreneurship development.
•  Support regular nutrition assessment of under 5 children, FCHVs follow up, ensuring counselling and follow-up services are going well to all identified Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM)/ Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) cases, ensuring clinical management of SAM cases and reporting through the government health system (Health Management Information System (HMIS)/ District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS 2).
• Support regular national campaigns, growth monitoring PHC/ORC, OTC support, WASH sessions, and presence in immunization clinics run by government health systems as per regular schedule.
•  Support project team for identification and selection of lead farmers, support to establish demonstration plots for diverse nutritious, rich nutrition gardening practices applying climate-sensitive technologies in an integrated farming approach.
•  Assist in addressing the relevancy of the suggested innovations based on the local level stakeholders and mother groups feedback and reporting immediately in case of deviation in field activities or challenges faced during implementation.
• Carry out the regular field visit for supervision and monitoring of the field activities at household level on a regular and periodic basis ensuring all thematic areas are duly integrated.
•  Support project team to develop a detailed implementation plan (DIP) of the program in the assigned area.
•  Collect and compile the good practices and lessons learned from the field on a timely basis and develop and share the success/change stories and share with the supervisor.
•  Support and facilitate the integration of program components at the annual plan of respective local government.
•  Collaborate with market actors and community business facilitators to create synergetic effect on Agriinput system, WASH commodities and supply, input and output supports at community groups.
•  Organize group meetings frequently to provide technical assistance and backstopping to health mother groups and farmer groups, cooperatives and individual farmers.
•  Prepare a report on the training and meeting event and submit it to the respective thematic members.
•  Perform any other duties as required or requested by the line manager and the board.

Coordination and Program Implementation

•  Ensure activities align with annual plans, budgets, and project outputs.
•  Coordinate with local governments, extension services, and stakeholders.
• Support integration of project components into local government plans.
•  Collaborate with market actors to strengthen input and output systems.
• Promote value addition, post-harvest management, and local marketing.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation

• Conduct regular field monitoring and supervision.
•  Ensure data accuracy and timely entry (e.g., Kobo).
• Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories.
• Prepare and submit reports on trainings, meetings, and field progress.

Safeguarding, GESI, and Accountability

• Apply inclusive, gender-responsive, and participatory approaches.
•  Ensure adherence to safeguarding, child protection, and organizational policies.
•  Strengthen community feedback and accountability mechanisms.
•  Maintain safety and compliance in all field activities.

Qualifications and Experience

•  Intermediate (or equivalent) in Agriculture.
•  Minimum 3 years’ experience in agriculture and livelihood programs.
•  Experience with community engagement and local government coordination.
•  Strong facilitation, communication, and reporting skills.
•  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
•  Knowledge of GESI, safeguarding, and MEAL systems.
