Kalika Self-Reliance Social Centre (KSSC-Nepal) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization committed to advancing education, livelihood, and social development, with a strong grassroots presence in Lumbini Province. In partnership with UNICEF, under the SESP program, KSSC-Nepal works to improve access, quality, and equity in education. The program places particular emphasis on providing Alternative Education Opportunities for out-of-school girls aged 8 to 14, as well as other learners requiring flexible learning pathways. Through community engagement, capacity building, and collaboration CLC, local government and local stakeholders, KSSC-Nepal strives to ensure inclusive, equitable, and sustainable education opportunities for marginalized and disadvantaged children in targeted communities.

Post Title: ALP Technical Officer (1)
Work base: Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality and Kapilvastu Municipality of Kapilvastu District, Butwal Sub-Metro and Shuddhodhan of Rupandehi, & Narainapur of Banke District.
Job Summary
The ALP Technical Officer is responsible for planning and implementing Alternative Education (ALP) and Digital learning programme under Non-formal Education programme through strengthening Community Learning Centers (CLCs) at the selected local government. The Officer is held accountable for managing ALP and digital learning classes in collaboration with local governments, schools, and communities to bridge learning gaps and facilitates children’s transition back to formal education, enhancement of soft skills through digital learning, and linking with vocational training for employment opportunities. The role focuses on promoting and advocating programme scalability, sustainability and resource leverage by local governments for planning, budgeting and implementing non-formal education programmes targeting the out-of-school children and adolescents of community for the overall learning, skill development and certification.
It also involves connecting with existing employment opportunity in coordination with employment section of local government and with the province government. The role also includes mentoring particularly the selected facilitators of Alternative Learning programme, out-of-school adolescent girls, adapting curriculum to diverse needs, building the capacity of facilitators and local governments, and coordinating stakeholders to promote alternative learning program and establish digital learning spaces.
Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
At least 2 years’ experience in education programming, preferably in alternative or non-formal education.
Knowledge of Nepal’s education policies and frameworks.
Experience working with local governments, schools, and communities
Experience in digital learning and vocational/skills development programmes
Experience working with out-of-school children and adolescents, especially girls
Data management, documentation, and report writing skills
Basic digital literacy and ability to promote digital learning
Ability to design and deliver training and mentor facilitators
Good coordination and stakeholder engagement
Willingness to travel frequently to rural and remote areas.
