Sabal Nepal, a non-profit social development organization, is implementing the Nutrition Smart Community Project with the support of Welthungerhilfe. The project aims to improve food and nutrition security among vulnerable communities in Nepal through inclusive and climate-resilient food systems. The expected outcome is that government and civil society decision-makers at local, provincial, and national levels apply community-based and cross-sectoral approaches to sustainably reduce chronic malnutrition. We invite applications from interested and qualified Nepali citizens for the following positions.
The positions are based in Saptari district and will be located in Saptakoshi/Kanchanrup/Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipalities and Agnisair Krishnasawaran Rural municipalities.
Position: Technical Expert – Nutrition (Lead) – 01
Qualification and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or relevant field with at least 3 years of experience in community-based agri-nutrition, WASH, agriculture, or multisector nutrition programs, preferably in the Terai region. Strong knowledge of maternal, adolescent, and child nutrition, and experience working with local governments, health facilities, and community health systems. Experience in delivering nutrition trainings and promoting nutrition-sensitive behaviours at community level. Fluency in Nepali and local Terai language (Maithili) preferred. Valid two-wheeler driving license and ability to travel frequently in rural areas.
Assignment:
Field-based position with regular travel to assigned municipalities; approximately 30% coordination, reporting, and planning, and 70% field implementation, capacity building, and community engagement (subject to program requirements).

Position: Project Officer – Livelihoods – 01
Qualification and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field with at least 2 years of experience in livelihood or agriculture-based development programs. Strong knowledge of climate-resilient agriculture, value chains, and market-oriented livelihood approaches. Experience working with farmer groups, cooperatives, local governments, and delivering trainings to community members, Nutrition Champions, FCHVs, and project staff. Fluency in Nepali and local Maithili language preferred. Preference will be given to local applicants from Madhesh Province. Valid two-wheeler driving license required.
Assignment: Field-based position with frequent travel across assigned municipalities; approximately 30% coordination, reporting, and planning, and 70% field implementation, training, and community mobilization (subject to program requirements).

Position: MEAL Officer – 01
Qualification and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or relevant field with at least 2 years of experience in MEAL roles. Strong knowledge of monitoring frameworks, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Experience in conducting baseline/endline surveys, field monitoring, and managing feedback and complaint response mechanisms (FCRM). Familiarity with donor MEAL standards and strong skills in data analysis software such as Excel, Power BI, or similar tools. Preference will be given to local applicants with knowledge of local languages. Valid two-wheeler driving license required.
Assignment: Field-based position with regular travel; approximately 30% coordination, data management, and reporting, and 70% field monitoring, verification, assessments, and community feedback management (subject to program requirements).

Position: Finance and Administration Officer – 01
Qualification and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Management with at least 2 years of experience in NGO financial management and reporting. Experience working with donor-funded projects and knowledge of financial compliance, audit support, budget monitoring, payroll preparation, tax (TDS) calculation, and procurement processes. Strong understanding of accounting systems, bank reconciliation, inventory and asset management. Preference will be given to local applicants with fluency in local Terai languages. Valid two-wheeler driving license preferred.
Assignment: Primarily office-based position responsible for financial management, reporting, budget monitoring, payroll, procurement compliance, inventory and logistics support, audit coordination, and administrative management, with regular coordination support to field teams (subject to program requirements).

Position: Cluster/Community Facilitator – 04
Qualification and Experience: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Agriculture, or relevant field with at least 3 years of experience in community-based development work. Strong facilitation, mobilization, and communication skills. Experience working with community groups, farmers, FCHVs, schools, and local institutions. Knowledge of nutrition-sensitive and climate-resilient practices (e.g., seed bank, nutri kitchen garden, agroforestry, nursery establishment) preferred. Preference will be given to local applicants with fluency in Maithili. Valid two-wheeler driving license required.
Assignment: Fully field-based position responsible for community mobilization, facilitation of trainings and meetings, local coordination, and routine monitoring and reporting (subject to program requirements).
