About CSC
Founded in 2015, Centre for Social Change (CSC) is a Kathmandu-based social think-tank working on issues around conflict prevention, governance, peacebuilding, environment, and climate justice. CSC set up a creative environment to work within a strong methodological framework for evidence-based policy advocacy. The foundational work of CSC is to generate data based on research and assist in designing the people-centric policy and programs at the local and national levels. Currently, CSC is working in Koshi, Madhesh, Lumbini, and Bagmati provinces.
Job Profile
The Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Knowledge Management Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining effective and appropriate Monitoring and Evaluation systems for all activities of the projects and results at the organizational level. The officer will assume responsibility for full-cycle Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning of all projects and develop appropriate methodologies and tools to design the complete process. The officer will contribute to evidence-based program design and track the continuous improvements of the program quality based on data, credible evidence, learnings, reporting process, improving knowledge management and data quality as well as strengthening knowledge sharing and learning across the organization. The officer will also prepare annual reports on the project progress and harvest outcome process from the project activities. The officer will work in close collaboration with CSC team and field-level staff.
Major responsibilities and deliverables:
Develop, implement, and access monitoring frameworks, data collection tools, performance indicators for research, program, and all CSC running projects.
Develop the overall framework for project Monitoring and Evaluation systems, including periodic desk reviews, field monitoring visits, and internal evaluation to track progress, validate data quality and assess outcomes and impact of the projects.
Measure progress against established outputs, outcomes, and impact indicators and provide evidence-based recommendations for the programmatic improvements.
Facilitate reflection sessions, learning workshops, and review meetings as well as in-house training on the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary for effective Monitoring and Evaluation.
Document lessons learned, challenges, innovations and best practices to demonstrate the project progress.
Collect, analyze, and consolidate both qualitative and quantitative data for the periodic progress reports and donor reports.
Contribute to the development of annual work plans to identify project targets and ensure inclusion of Monitoring and Evaluation activities.
Support the development, design, and writing of proposals and concept notes for related programming, information management, and reporting.
Visit project locations and initiate to monitor the quality and completeness of data produced through the project in coordination with project members and field officers.
Assist in developing learning materials, knowledge management, and skill development products for wider dissemination among the relevant stakeholders and target groups of the project.
Develop a high quality knowledge products, including case studies, success stories, stories of change, policy briefs, infographics, podcasts, and other presentation materials as per the project need.
Perform other duties related to the job as assigned by the supervisor and the leadership team.
Qualification and Skills Required:
Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Development Studies, or any other social science field with at least three years of relevant experience working in the development sector.
Good knowledge and strong demonstrated experience in monitoring, evaluation, and Research and knowledge management, including participatory approaches.
Proven experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, data analysis, and evidence-based reporting.
Strong track record in developing knowledge products through research and monitoring/evaluation.
Ability to coordinate and strengthen partnerships with government officials, CSOs, and media.
Proven ability to handle multiple tasks at a time with time management skills and able to accomplish quality work with strict deadlines.
Self-motivated, self-confident, a team player, and must possess a high level of integrity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Nepali and English.
