Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) Vacancy for Various Positions


Vacancy Announcement: 

Being established in 1990, Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) is the one and only umbrella federation of Organizations of enlisted Indigenous Peoples of Nepal; a legally recognized organization registered under “Organizations Registration Act, 2034” of Nepal.

NEFIN truly represents Nepal’s indigenous peoples who constitute 35% of total country population (Census 2021). From the day one of its establishment, NEFIN has been working for the protection of rights of Nepal’s indigenous peoples over their ancestral domain, traditional lands, territories and natural resources as well as their cultural heritages, history, language, scripts, culture, traditions and identity. It has played a historical role in establishment of federalism, secularism and proportionate representation in Nepal.

In collaboration with its international collaborators, NEFIN is planning to initiate interventions on mapping of ancestral domains, traditional lands, territories and natural resources under the communal use of indigenous peoples of Baglung, Okhaldhunga (Rolpa, Solukhumbu and Dhankuta) districts of Nepal.

Now, NEFIN is seeking to recruit qualified personnels for the positions detailed below:

Position: Project Leader
Required No.: 1

Requirements:

  •  Post-graduate degree in development and social studies, NRM, law or management
  •  At least 10 years of work experience in implementation of IPs rights related projects.
  •  Fluent in English writing and speaking as well as in Nepali; knowlede of Magar, Sherpa and Tamang IPs would be added benefit.
  • Proven skills and experience in report writing, documentation and MS Office.

Position: GIS Expert
Required No.: 2

Requirements:

  •  Post-graduate degree in GIS, geography, statistics, NRM or environment science
  • At least 10 years of work experience relevant field.
  •  Proven skills and experience in GIS and Cartography.

Position: Rapporteur

Required No.: 1

Requirements:

  •  Post-graduate degree in development and social studies, NRM, law or management
  •  At least 10 years of work experience in implementation of development projects.
  • Fluent in English writing and speaking as well as in Nepali; knowledge of Magar, Sherpa and Tamang IPs would be added benefit.
  • Proven skills and experience in report writing, documentation and MS Office.

Position: Finance Officer
Required No.: 1

Requirements:

  •  At least graduate degree in accounting, finance or management.
  • At least 7 years of work experience in relevant area.
  • Proven skills and experience in accounting, book-keeping and financial management.
  •  Proficiency in computer skills (MS office) and accounting software is essential.

Position: Software Developers
Required No.: 2

Requirements:

  • At least graduate degree in computer science.
  • Proven skill and experience in software development.

Position: Field mappers
Required No.: 6

Requirements:

  •  At least graduate degree in any discipline
  •  Proven skills and experience in photography, cartography, drone-photography.

Position: Programme Associate
Required No.: 2

Requirements:

  •  At least graduate degree in social science, management, NRM or environment studies
  • At least 5 years of work experience in project implementation.
  •  Proven skills and experience in logistics, procrument process, communication and coordination with different partners and stakeholders.
  •  Proficiency in computer skills (MS office) is essential.

Position: Local Facilitators
Required No.: 4

Requirements:

  •  At least higher secondary education (+2) in social science or management.
  •  At least 1 year of work experience in community mobilization.
  •  Sound communication and coordination skills.
