BVS-Nepal is committed to enhancing the overall wellbeing of burn survivors through a holistic approach. We are pleased to announce a vacancy for the position of Program Officer, who will play a key role in supporting burn survivors. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual to contribute to their recovery and wellbeing.

Location: Kathmandu

Duration: 1 year (January 2026 to December 2026) with a possibility of extension

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support planning, coordination, and execution of project activities in alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.

  • Assist in preparing detailed activity plans, budgets, and logistical arrangements for events, trainings, and field activities.

  • Coordinate with project team members, partners, and field offices to ensure timely and quality implementation of all planned activities.

  • Maintain regular communication with beneficiaries, local stakeholders, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers to ensure proper support to burn survivors.

  • Collect, verify, and compile data and information from field offices and Hospitals.

  • Monitor field activities to ensure effectiveness, quality, and adherence to project objectives.

  • Prepare progress reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) summarizing key achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.

  • Write success stories, case studies and maintain data regularly.

  • Support in drafting project proposals, concept notes, and budgets for new funding opportunities.

  • Maintain proper database of the beneficiaries.

  • Contribute to developing advocacy materials, newsletters, and awareness content.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with government agencies, hospitals, NGOs/INGOs, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Represent BVS-Nepal in meetings, workshops, and coordination forums as assigned.

  • Support in advocacy and awareness campaigns related to burn prevention, rehabilitation, and reintegration.

  • Provide technical and logistical support during workshops, orientations, and review meetings.

  • Ensure timely submission of bills, receipts, and other relevant documentation to the finance department.

  • Participate in regular staff meetings and contribute to organizational planning and reviews.

  • Conduct regular follow-ups with survivors to update their status and provide necessary support for their reintegration.

  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • At least two years of working experience in the similar field.

  • Sound understanding of Nepal’s government structure and administrative processes, including on development sector.

  • Proven working experience with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies civil society organizations and service providers.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and facilitation skills.

  • Strong data management, documentation, and reporting abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace tools, and basic design platforms (e.g., Canva).

  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Nepali.

  • Empathetic, dedicated, and team-oriented with a strong learning attitude.

  • Willingness to travel frequently for field visits and program activities.
