We are now looking for interested and qualified individuals for the position of Local Fundraising Manager at SOS Children’s Villages Nepal.
Position: Local Fundraising Manager (1)
The Local Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation and reporting of local fund development strategies, annual plans and their regular review. This role is critical in enhancing the visibility and brand image of SOS Children’s Villages Nepal and in promoting its mission to a broad audience. The incumbent will lead efforts to build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders including high-net-worth individuals, corporate and business entities, government agencies and like-minded development organisations, through a strategic long-term approach to fundraising and public relations.
Key performance areas and responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive local fundraising strategies, annual plans and targets in alignment with the organisation’s overall fundraising objectives.
- Lead the identification, cultivation and engagement of potential donors, sponsors and partners including high-net-worth individuals, corporate entities and like-minded organisations.
- Strengthen relationships with existing donors and ensure effective stewardship through timely communication, reporting and recognition.
- Oversee the development of compelling fundraising campaigns, proposals and donor communication materials to support income generation efforts.
- Initiate and manage fundraising events, corporate partnership programmes and brand visibility activities to enhance the public profile of SOS Children’s Villages Nepal.
- Maintain a robust donor database and ensure regular monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of fundraising performance against set targets.
- Provide strategic leadership and supervision to the local fundraising teams, including capacity building and coordination with other departments to ensure integration of fundraising initiatives across programmes.
- Represent SOS Children’s Villages Nepal in relevant forums, networks, and partnership meetings to promote collaboration and advocacy for childcare and development initiatives.
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Development Studies or a relevant discipline, preferably with a specialisation in Marketing, with at least a second division or equivalent.
- A minimum of five years of proven experience in fundraising, marketing or partnership management with non-profit or corporate sector, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of local fundraising trends, corporate social responsibly (CSR) practices, and partnership development strategies.
- Excellent skills in proposal writing, communication, negotiation, and relationship management.
- A strategic thinker with strong analytical, organisational and reporting capabilities.
- Proficiency in English and Nepali with sound computer literacy.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and a positive attitude.
- Experience of working with children and young people will be considered an added advantage.
- Preference will be given to candidates holding a valid two-wheeler license.
For the above-mentioned position, candidate must be a Nepali citizen.
