Ujyalo Foundation Vacancy for Program Coordinator


Vacancy Announcement:

Ujyalo Foundation is looking for an individual willing to work towards strengthening girls, women, and nonbinary individuals’ leadership in Nepal through the position of Program Coordinator to manage and implement leadership programs at the Foundation.

Our work expands in rural and urban areas with girls, women, and nonbinary individuals from diverse identities and backgrounds. Hence, we are looking to work with individuals who are passionate about the issues of diversity, inclusion, equity, feminism, and leadership, have an understanding of these topics, and are intersectional in their approach.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Program Coordinator for a 3-year role. The coordinator will be responsible for supporting and managing organizational initiatives, ensuring smooth operations, effective stakeholder engagement, and programmatic impact.

A. Title: Program Coordinator
B. Location: Kathmandu and other project sites in Nepal
C. Reports to: Executive Director
D. Contractual Commitment: 3 years (September 2025 - September 2028)
E. Roles and Responsibilities

F.1. Program Planning, Implementation, and Coordination:

  • Support planning, designing, and executing sessions, workshops, or activities as part of organizational initiatives.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including local authorities and community members, for effective program execution.
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment to ensure inclusive and diverse participation.
  • Maintain timelines and support budget management for efficient implementation.
  • Manage logistics in collaboration with the team.

F.2. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

  • Provide regular updates on program progress and challenges to stakeholders.
  • Maintain relationships with program participants, facilitators, alumni, and donors.
  • Adapt program strategies to address emerging challenges or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Conduct donor mapping and explore potential partnerships to ensure long-term program sustainability.

F.3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
  • Support monitoring and evaluation activities to compile data and feedback for learning and improvement.
  • Participate in team meetings and review progress against objectives.
F.4. Documentation and Communication:
  • Ensure clear and accurate documentation of program activities.
  • Collaborate with communications teams to effectively share program updates.
F.5. Organizational Engagement:
  • Participate in organizational events, team meetings, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Uphold the Foundation’s cultural code, values, and best practices.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work hours, including occasional weekends or workshops.
G. Requirements specific to the position:
  • Must participate in all Ujyalo Foundation events
  • Must follow Cultural Code and best practices
  • Must participate in weekly team meetings, weekly one-on-one check-ins and quarterly review, and annual strategic planning meetings
  • The working hours at Ujyalo Foundation are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday; however, we support flexible working hours. Flexible working hours are agreed upon with the line manager *Working on Saturdays and weekends might be required during the workshop period
H. Qualification, Experience, and Skills 
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Development Studies, or a related field 
  • At least one to two years of professional experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion, feminist leadership framework, or a similar field in Nepal 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Google Drive, and online project management tools 
  • Proficient in Nepali reading and writing 
  • Experience in project coordination is a must 
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation, community outreach, and report writing is a must 
  • Experience in team management is a must 
  • Experience in liaising with the local government is preferred 
  • Facilitation experience is preferred
