Himalayan Community Development Forum (HICODEF) is a registered NGO working the field of social development since its establishment in 1999. It has envisioned a society where everyone would have a dignified life and there would not be any sort of discrimination. The mission of HICODEF is to contribute to create a society without any sorts of discrimination, exploitation, and poverty through the process of empowerment. Based in Nawalparasi (east), the organization has implemented several development and humanitarian initiations in the partnerships with different development partners.
HICODEF, in collaboration with CRS Nepal, has been implementing the SPICES (Securing and Protecting Investments & Capacities for Environmental Sustainability) project in two rural municipalities of Nawalparasi East. The project aims to promote a market-based, multi-story agroforestry value chain. By supporting the cultivation, processing, and marketing of key commodities within the value chain, SPICES seeks to help smallholder farmers increase their productivity, income, and household resilience. The project is specifically focused on improving livelihoods in Baudikali and Hupsekot Rural Municipalities.
