About Manavsewa Ashram

Founded in 2012, Manavsewa Ashram is a nonprofit social organisation working to make Nepal a street-people-free country. We rescue, rehabilitate and reintegrate vulnerable populations, people who are homeless, elderly without family support, persons with disabilities, and others living in public spaces, through shelters, medical camps, family reunification and community outreach across multiple branches nationwide.

Role Purpose

The MEAL Officer will design, implement and maintain Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems to ensure data-driven programme quality, accountability to beneficiaries, and continuous learning across Manavsewa Ashram programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project MEAL plans, indicator matrices and data-collection schedules.
  • Conduct routine monitoring at shelters and field sites, supervise enumerators, and ensure data quality.
  • Manage databases and digital data systems; conduct data cleaning, validation and audits.
  • Produce monitoring reports and dashboards; share findings and recommendations with programme teams.
  • Support baseline, midline, endline and special studies; document lessons learned.
  • Manage feedback and complaints mechanisms; ensure follow-up and safeguarding compliance.
  • Train staff and volunteers on MEAL tools, methods and data use.
  • Act as MEAL focal point for coordination and donor reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Health, Economics or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5–7 years of relevant MEAL/M&E experience with NGOs or INGOs.
  • Proven skills in quantitative and qualitative methods (surveys, FGDs, KIIs).
  • Experience supervising field data collection teams.
  • Proficiency in digital/mobile data collection tools and strong Excel skills.
  • Strong report writing in English and Nepali.
  • Understanding of accountability, safeguarding and ethical data management.
