Terms of Reference (ToR) for Digital Facilitator
Heifer International Nepal (Heifer) is dedicated to ending hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth through agriculture-based livelihood and market system development programs. While agriculture and livestock-based micro, small and medium enterprises-MSMEs remains an important source of income for rural people, entrepreneurship has been yet to achieve its true potential in this sector. HPIN has realized that the lack of access to capital for smallholder farmers, SMEs and off-takers for business expansion is one of the major limiting factors.
Heifer is promoting digitalization of agriculture and livestock farm practices of more than 400K+ women farmers, their 300+ cooperatives, and their apex body as a part of its Innovation in Agriculture and Livestock Value Chain (IALVC) project. Heifer seeks to hire digital facilitators for the deployment of various digital platforms (GeoKrishi SEWA Farm, GeoKrishi SEWA Ext, GeoKrishi SEWA Enterprise, Samuhik Bazar etc.) developed for digitalization.
Number of Facilitators: 2
Contract Period: August 2025 to January 2026
Reporting to: Innovation and New Initiative Lead
Travel Required: 75% Monthly.
Location: Butwal Region (1) and Chitwan Region (1).
Key Responsibilities:
Backstop Geokrishi SEWA Digital platform users on using all the mobile-based as well as web-based applications of Geokrishi SEWA.
Assist in the operation and handling of the web based as well as mobile based digital platform.
Provide guidance to users on how to navigate the digital platforms.
Help troubleshoot technical issues faced by the application users in coordination with the IT company.
Monitor and ensure accurate data entry into the digital platforms.
Review, organize and maintain records to ensure the reliability of the data.
Provide user feedback to the digital development team for system enhancement and updates.
Generate and share periodic reports on system usage, challenges and success.
Collaborate with Heifer team, SEWA-Nepal team, local project partners, cooperative and other stakeholders to implement the digital platform.
Support the Heifer program team in implementing other innovative projects in food system as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in animal health, agriculture, or other social science.
Familiarity with web-based and mobile applications, basic troubleshooting skills, and proficiency in data management tools (Excel, MS-Word, etc.) as well as able to operate remote desktop applications like AnyDesk, TeamViewer, etc.
Good communication skills, Teamwork, and problem-solving ability,
Previous experience in handling web-based and mobile based digital tools in the field of agriculture and livestock.
Experience deploying digital tools, Internet of Things (IOTs) innovation, drones etc.
Other Requirements:
Willing to travel frequently in the different working areas of the project
Must have a two-wheeler driving license and a laptop
Encourage applicants from Palpa, Rupandehi, Chitwan and surrounding districts.
