Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-profit making non-governmental-organization founded in 1996. SAHAS has been working in remote rural areas focusing on vulnerable and socially excluded families who are derived of development opportunities. SAHAS puts its development efforts towards strengthening the capacities of communities and to create an enabling environment for sustaining development activities by fostering collective efforts of the communities themselves.
SAHAS Nepal is looking the potential candidate for the following positions:
1. Position: Technical Coordinator
Project: Local Initiatives for Food Security Transformation Project (LIFT)
Duty Station: Kathmandu district (with frequently site visits of the project districts)
Required number: 1
Academic qualification/experiences:
Master's degree in Agriculture
Experience of minimum of 3 years in food security and nutrition or sustainable agriculture
Experience of project management including planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting, and developing proposals.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English
Major responsibilities:
Management of project plan and budget and review periodically
Facilitate to develop the staff capacity to implement the project including developing their understanding and capacity to implement project activities
Monitor the progress of project related to food security and nutrition in accordance with output and outcome indicators and submit quality report on timely basis
Prepare and submit compiles data, events, human interest stories, challenges and lesson learnt to publish periodic reports
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual project reports and financial report
Linkage and network with province level departments and ministries, and I/NGOs for coordination and cooperation.
Organise workshop at Province level government and stakeholders.
Participate in organisational level meetings and seminars.
2. Position: Nutrition Officer
Project: Local Initiatives for Food Security Transformation Project (LIFT)
Duty Station: Surkhet district
Required number: 1
Academic qualification/experiences:
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition
Experience of minimum of 2 years in Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition
Excellent knowledge in statistical tools, data analysis and report writing skill
Good coordination skills in working with Province and local governments.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English
Major responsibilities:
Planning and implementation of nutrition and WASH related activities
provide technical backstopping to health technicians and other project staffs
Prepare nutrition and WASH related training modules and organise training to health technicians
Enhancing nutrition awareness tools among target beneficiaries
Conduct regular monitoring and supervision visits to ensure the quality implementation of the project
Prepare and timely submit reports, case /success story regularly
Support for developing strategies and guideline in nutrition to Health Unit of Rural Municipality
Linkage and network with province level departments and ministries, and I/NGOs for coordination and cooperation.
Organise workshop at Province level government and stakeholders.
3. Position: Admin and Finance Assistant
Project: Local Initiatives for Food Security Transformation Project (LIFT)
Duty Station: Bajura and Achham districts
Required number: 2
Academic qualification/experiences:
10+2 in Business Management or bachelors from recognized university
At least one year of working experience in related field
Computer skills –words, excel, power point, skill in Accounting Software.
Effective team player and can thrive under pressure
Major responsibilities:
Maintain financial accounts and records daily
Implementation of the compliance of the government, funding partner and the organization
Financial reporting, analysis, monitoring and follow up of project activities
Keep records of the SSF, tax and other salary related information of the respective project
Maintain safety and secure of the project assets, stock and personal files
Day to day procurements, logistic and administration task
